Inserting Pauses
Pause tags may be inserted into TextAloud articles, causing voices to pause for an interval you specify. In addition, TextAloud can be configured to automatically generate pauses at the end of each sentence and/or paragraph.
To Insert a Pause Manually
- Using your mouse, position the cursor to a location in the article where a pause should be inserted. Press the left button on the mouse.
- Press the right button on your mouse to display the article's popup menu.
- From the popup menu, select "Insert Pause". A submenu of pause values ranging from .25 seconds to 10 seconds will be displayed. Select "User Defined" from the submenu to use a pause value that is not predefined.
To Generate Pauses Automatically
- Use the Predefined Pauses options panel to define the intervals for pauses inserted automatically. Automatic pauses are available for end of sentence and end of paragraph.
